What is Voice bot?
An automated system that talks to callers by voice. Modern voice bots are AI voice agents.
Definition
'Voice bot' is the older name for automated voice systems. Early voice bots followed fixed scripts and recognised a few keywords; modern ones use large language models to understand free speech and respond naturally.
Why it matters
If a vendor says 'voice bot', ask whether it understands free speech in your customers' languages, or only keywords.
